Call for Proposals – PHA Annual Meeting
2021 Annual Meeting
The Pennsylvania Historical Association invites you to join us virtually for our 90th Annual Meeting to be held in October 2021! This year’s theme is “Justice and Rights in the Mid-Atlantic” and the Call for Proposals (CFP) is now open.
In response to recent public protests of police violence and new calls to eradicate systemic racism, the Pennsylvania Historical Association has chosen “Justice and Rights in the Mid-Atlantic” as its 2021 conference theme. The Program Committee is especially interested in presentations that address topics related to justice and rights, including economic, political, cultural, social, and religious history. Scholars in fields other than history (such as criminology, public policy, and sociology) are encouraged to submit proposals.
The committee also welcomes proposals on all aspects of Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic History including panels on traditional scholarship as well as ones on pedagogy, public history, or material culture. Formats include panels, roundtable discussions, lightning rounds, and student posters. Full session proposals are preferred, but individual papers will be considered. All are welcome to apply. PHA membership is required to participate at the 2021 annual meeting. The conference will be held October 14, 15, and 16, 2021, virtually via Zoom webinars.
Proposals must be submitted electronically by April 1st, 2021. The online submission forms are now available.
