In honor of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment in 1919 and the first female voters in 1920, Pennsylvania History: A Journal of Mid-Atlantic Studies is issuing a special themed edition of the journal scheduled for Summer 2020.

“Women’s and Gender History in Pennsylvania” will cover the over 300 years of women’s successes and challenges in the colony and state. Dr. Janet Moore Lindman of Rowan University will serve as Guest Editor. Essays relating to political, social, religious, ethnic, racial and gender issues are especially welcome. Articles should be between 25-35 pages and around 10-15,000 words. We also seek shorter pieces of about 1,000 words with images to highlight collections or artifacts relating to women’s history in the commonwealth.

The deadline for articles is February 1, 2020. Potential authors should contact Dr. Lindman at: lindman@rowan.edu; or the journal’s General Editor, Linda A. Ries at: jaggers1952@verizon.net to discuss topics.
