2015 Student Research Poster Session a Resounding Success
As has become customary, the Student Research Poster Session was one of the highlights of the conference and featured eleven undergraduate and four graduate students. What a great way to support the next generation of Pennsylvania historians! First prize in the undergraduate division went to Rachel Baer of Susquehanna University (Dr. Ed Slavishak, mentor) for “‘Every Town Has . . . Half a Dozen Lunatics:’ Insanity in Snyder County, Pennsylvania.” First prize in the graduate student division went to Joana Arruda of Temple University (Dr. Hilary Iris Lowe, mentor), “Internationalizing the National Park Service: A Study of the NPS Division of International Affairs, 1956–1970.” Both projects were then featured in the Spring 2016 issue of Pennsylvania History: A Journal of Mid-Atlantic Studies.
