Dear Friends,

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 2016 Pennsylvania Historical Association Annual Meeting to be held Oct. 6-8 at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Shippensburg is a lovely community in the heart of the Cumberland Valley easily accessible by car and only an hour from Harrisburg International Airport.

The Program Committee has put together a stellar lineup of paper sessions, plenaries, and roundtables, many dealing with the conference theme of “Technology, Business, and the Environment,” as well as our popular Student Research Poster Session.  In addition to a fantastic opening plenary on translating the state’s conservation history for a public audience, one of the highlights of this year’s conference will be a Friday road trip to the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, one of the most significant military archives and museums in the nation. You can find out more about the panel sessions and plenaries on the program overview.

Our crack Local Arrangements Committee has prepared for your every need (within reason of course) and accommodations are available at the brand new Shippensburg Courtyard Hotel adjacent to the SU Conference Center. Conference registration and hotel reservations are available online. As a reminder, all presenters are required to be PHA members by the time of the conference (contact Allen with any questions).

See you in October!
